Professional logo design for Wychwood
THE BACKGROUND – Wychwood Cabinet Makers based in Woodford, Northampton has a long trading record as a bespoke kitchen designer and manufacturer and were often asked by their clients for extra design and finishing elements for both the kitchen and other areas of homes such as bathrooms, boot rooms etc.
So Wychwood English Interiors was created to sell a wide range of high quality brands including Aga, Little Green Paints, Miele, Marlborough Tiles and Rayburn as well as its own range of high quality hand-made free-standing cabinets and furniture.
Wychwood English Interiors – a modern identity for a classic interiors store
THE OBJECTIVE – The brief was for a professional logo design that conveyed the idea of a modern classic, quality home interiors store that would appeal to clients seeking top quality interior accessories. Where possible Wychwood English Interiors source British designed and manufactured products so the design needed to reflect this too. The feel had to be cool, upmarket, homely but with a sophisticated edge.
An adaptable logo design solution
THE OUTCOME – The final design conveys the idea of home interiors immediately. But also implies the idea of a single point for your purchase of high quality home products.
CATALYST choose a modern twist on a serif typeface for the identity along with colours inspired by home-interior colours and fittings. The graphic element of the design – simplified illustrations of the types of products they supply – was designed as a repeatable block which could then be used as a separate background element on stationery, brochures, exhibition panels and their website.
The various elements of the corporate identity have provided Wychwood English Interiors with an infinitely adaptable logo solution that always appears strong, legible and sophisticated no matter what the application.
In addition to the new corporate identity developed for Wychwood English Interiors, the project included designs for stationery, signage, packaging, marketing leaflets and advertisements.
CATALYST also designed and created a website for the interiors company. The website follows very much in the ethos of the design – a modern, clean page layout that appeals to a modern, discerning country-life audience.
